I was wondering if I would need a memory card in order to play xbox games on an xbox 360, or do the games save to the hard drive? Also, would I need an original xbox controller or would an xbox 360 controller work?

I'm gonna buy a 360 nest week, and I wish to avoid the horror stories I've heard people have. I plan on getting the bundle that has the elite plus Lego Batman and Pure. Is there someway for me to confirm that the 360 within the bundle I pick out is indeed a Jasper? I don't know, like maybe a physical characteristic that isn't on non-Jaspers, or something within the serial number, etc etc.

[QUOTE="APic"]

I recently heard something that seemed to suggest that whenever you play a 360 game, it first connects to live, and if it is unable to connect then you can't play. Now I was gonna buy a 360 sometime next week, probably on Wednesday, but I have no intentilon of getting any form of xbox live. So what I'm asking is if this is true, do you require live in order to play even if you're only playing the single player modes, which are offline? What about offline split screen modes?

You dont need live but just wondering why wont you be connecting to live?

I don't plan on conecting to live because I find I have no need for it. I don't plan on ever getting any dlc and I don't want to play online, so having to buy a network adaptor or cable of somesort would just be a needless expense for me.

I think all xbox games are required to have some form of live framework connectivity. A live subscription is mainly for multiplayer gaming. Anyone who doesn't want XBL can create a free silver account. _Tobli_

But I don't plan on my 360 being connected to live at all.

seriously do you think they would make a system that everytime your internet went down you couldnt play games?hansmacher

I highly doubted it, but I find it's better to be on the side of caution when you plan on spending a lot of money on something.

Then why would there be people saying otherwise? I'm not saying I doubtyou, I'm just saying that it seems a waste of time for them to have been saying such lies.

I recently found out that the 360 has no built-in wireless ability, an would need a special router to work with my wireless internet, but I don't feel like buying the router. Would I be able to get onto xbox live by directly plugging the 360 into one of those outlets that allow internet access?

I'm going to buy a 360 within the week as soon once my pay comes in. I was hoping to get list of various games for the 360 that either have a split screen mode, or have multiplayer modes that can be played localy. This is an important feature to me and my brother, and we would appreaciate your help.

Is there a pre-existing list of such games?

Also, we don't like sports, racing or fightinggames, so if there are any games in thoses three genres which have local multiplayer modes you do not have to list them. Every other genre is available though.

Thank you in advance to those of you that reply.
