Hi there. I got a card for a 12 month gold membership today, and had a few questions. You see, I already had a silver membership, but it was for some reason a seperate profile. I'm worried that when I enter the code for my gold membership that it will create a third gamertag on my system. You see, I had my gamertag, but a while later I got an ethernetcable, and attempted to connect to xbox live. To do this I was required to make a new gamertag.

So, is there anyway to take my existing gamertag and upgrade it to gold rather than just having a new profile with gold membership? I'd rather not have a new tag, and would like it to be on my profile that has all of my saved games and achievements.

There's a promostion going on sponsored by Microsoft Canada where if you send an email cheapshot to a friend, and they register a new xbox elite system, you get 1600 microsoft points, and they get a free game download. Now, I'd like to take part in this, but I don't actually know anybody, so I was wondering if anybody that was planning to get an 360 before January 15th would be willing to join in with me. I would email the cheapshot to you, you'd register your 360, and then once it's all done you get a free download an I get a few points.

I was wonderign if it was possibl to combine two gamer tags into one. You see, whe nI first got my 360 I didn't have an ethernet cable, so I had to make an offline account. Well, I got the cable not to long ago, and found that I had to make a new gmer tag for online purposes. Now, seeing as all of my save games are in my offline account, and I can only go online with my newer online account, I was wondering if it was possible to merge the two, or at least move the online option over to my offline profile. Can it be done?

So, it's supposed to hum/buzz? I guess I didn't notice it before then. Sorry for wasting your time. I guess I just got a bit paranoid seeing as how it would really have sucked for it to die after I spent all that money on it.

Any advice?

I got my 360 about 2 weeks ago, and now for the past 2 days everytime I do anything on it makes a humming/buzzing sound non-stop untill I turn it off. Now I'm afraid to even turn it on again. What does this sound mean? Is there anyway to fix it?

Also, how do I register my warranty with microsoft?

Also, about those trails: Is it a limited form of the game, like a demo, or one of those trail things where you can only play for about 30 minutes and then it's gone?

Once installed it no longer requires the disc inside of the 360, correct? In that case, how do I launch the game? Also, it reduces load times, correct?

Now, this is a bit off topic, but how can I remove the various game trails and videos that come already on the 360?

Hi. I just got my 360 today and have been having a blast with it. However, I have heard people recomend that you should install your games to the 360 hard drive for various reasons. Now, I've been looking over thew manual but I can't find anything that says how to do this. Can anyone tell me what needs to be done?

Ok, that's good. Now, I heard that there is some sort of a patch that needs to be downloadsed to run these games. Is it a free download? How do I find the patch?
