Sorry about the links, I did them in a weird order and got mixed up. I changed it above. The gpu is
MSI NX8800GT 512M OC GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

In terms of water cooling, what do you guys think of this:

Swiftech H20-220-APEX-GT CPU Liquid Cooling Kits - Retail

I also looked at that mobo you talked about. Its like a 30 dollar difference but the reviews for the other one are better and I've seen the gigabyte one used on TomsHardware and Anandtech numerous times. If you use it and think its good, tell me otherwise.

This is my third computer that I will have built. Much of the knowledge I have has come from this boards so thank you guys. I'm trying to build a rig that'll basically handle Crysis at medium to high specs at 1900x1200 and be very resonable in price. Here is what I've come up with. FYI im recycling a case, hardrive, and monitor.

Mobo $90:GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard - Retail

CPU $240 (OEM, still deciding on whether to get water cooling or quality air cooling): Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor Model HH80562PH0568M - OEM

GPU $185: MSI NX8800GT 512M OC GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

RAM $80: G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ - Retail

PSU $135: OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI ATX12V 700W Power Supply - Retail

Total: $700

I think this should be able to run things pretty smoothly. Now I have to decide between water cooling and air cooling. Does anyone know any good sites to get the neccessary parts/reccomendations on what to get? Thanks.

I just went onto Newegg to see that they are having a lot of nvidia sales ending on the 31st of january. I've heard that the 9000 series is very near to announcement. Do you think this short term sale is a precursor or sign that the new line will be announced this week or next?

My employer wants to record and possibly post onto youtube some of the TV spots he has had. He has a mac mini. I've heard of EyeTV and some other products, but would these be optimal for taking a direct digital signal and quicking uploading the video to youtube? It said that the videos would be recorded in mpeg-2, would this be easy to put on youtube or would there be converting neccessary. If you have an answer please help--if you have used these products before it would be VERY helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Would the easiest option be to switch out the cpu for a better one in combination with the 8800 gt?

Hey guys.

Firstly, I'm wondering if you guys have any insight as to the best time to buy a video card right now. I really want to get a 8800 gt right now but I feel like newegg might cut prices come new years day/eve.

I also want to know this because I'm wondering if a 8800gt, X2 3800 @2.6ghz, 2 gb DDR500, will run at medium to high settings in Crysis at 1900x1200.

Thanks for answering, know you get this a lot

I'm doing tech support in my building for someone, and he asked me if it was possible to save dvr'd material onto a mac-mini's hardrive. I didn't have an answer for him, I thought that you would probably have to have a tv tuner and I didn't think you could install that on the mac mini. Anybody have an answer to this? Cost isn't really an issue, the guy does very well.
