@so_hai: DS1 is my favorite game. I did start my souls journey with demon's souls, but this game's design is phenomenal. There are so many details to discover, items and armor to collect, and different ways to play your character that it takes a long time to get boring. I like it better than bloodborne (a stellar game) because there seams to be less variety of play style versus DS1. The level design is great too. I still remember the first time getting to Anor Londo. I also remember beating the boss of that area and realizing I had only gone maybe half way through the game. I guess the synopsis would be that it is just plain amazing if you're willing to learn how it works. It does take time to learn the ins and outs. If you do take the time to invest in it, you are in for an epic journey.

@Jag-T1000: Dark Souls was beautifully designed but nobody ever thought it was graphically stunning. Besides, the online in the original is almost dead right now. I'm stoked to have a screen full of summon signs again and have a 6 player rumble in the forest. Oh and to play blighttown at more than 10fps.

For some reason Zelda games always seem to give me the best sense of accomplishment. After I'm done I really feel like I completed a great quest. Good to see Nintendo still does what they do best. I hope the switch is more successful than that periphery you add to the wii. What? The wii-u was a new system?

@drocdoc: Unplug your scorpio, take it outside, then let me know how well it performs. This system is suppose to give you true console experience on the go. Touch screen controls are inferior to buttons and sticks in most genre of games so phones and tablets (over twice the price of the switch btw) have never interested me for gaming. Also, I'd rather play a 16/32/64bit Zelda/Mario/Metroid/kart/ect... game than plenty of current, visually superior games.

Square in Sony's corner? Hoping people who own both consoles will preorder the ps4 version over xbox on a fps rumor? The specs will come out and speak for themselves.

Maybe they're in gamespot's pocket and just want to get all these message boards ablaze with people who can't help but.....omg.....

I think the wii u needs time and marketing. As a hardcore gamer I purchased a ps4 first. I will purchase a wii u in a while and an xbone after some price drops probably last to catch up on their exclusives. My issue is time. I own every Nintendo console since the nes (as well as sega, micro, and sony) and am a big supporter of their hardware, but I haven't bought one yet. I have to say they have the only "innovative" console on the market and I think that is a good thing. Most of the new features on the xbox and ps4 are social networking crap and things that you'd find on a smartphone. Big deal. Having said that I am a sucker for great graphics. As for the casual gamer, the name "wii u" is killing the sales. The public understand numbers not letters (eg: iphone5, galaxy s4, xbox 360...). An xbox y? A Playstation r? Please. It's going to take time and word of mouth to win them over.

As for Sega, they had success with the genesis, but failure at sega cd attachment, 32x attachment, Saturn, and dreamcast before they left the hardware market. Not to mention they haven't dominated the portable market since the dawn of time. Nintendo's last gen was the wii and the ds. They aren't pulling the plug for a long time.
