@Thanatos2k: Do you know that SSB is not even acknowledged as a Mario game by Nintendo? Do you know it's not advertised as a Mario game? That's because SSB is not dedicated to one IP in particular, unlike MK.
Fine; SSB is a Mario game, a Zelda game, a Metroid game, a DK game, a Pokemon game, a Kirby game, a Fire Emblem game, an F-Zero game, a Xenoblade game, etc. It's everyone's game.
@Thanatos2k: SSB started as a crossover franchise and MK as a Mario spinoff, and they are advertised as such. It's only until now that MK started adding different characters, while Mario still covers 90% of the content but not even half of SSB's. Why? Because SSB is a crossover first and foremost.
Might as well call SSB a Pokemon game. Heck, even a Fire Emblem one at this point.
