Hi Guys!

Like my title says, i'm looking to beef up my pc in light of the upcoming FANTASTIC games due out, (my big one is Batman Arkham Knight). Anyways here are my specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500k @ 4.00 Ghz

GPU: NVidia Geforce GTX 770 (stock speeds)

RAM:Corsair Vengeance 4GB 1600 MHz x 2 = 8GB

HDD: Intel 250gb SSD + 2.5 TB HDD

PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower XT 675W

MB: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3

Right now my OS is running on a partition on m SSD and games are installed on another partition on my SSD.

I'm just wondering if I should maybe bump up my ram to 12 or 16 gb seeing that games are starting to ask for 6GB of ram! I game at 1920 x 1080 resolution and I like to have all the bells and whisltes on but if I can't I do cut back. I know I won't be gaming at Ultra high setting but with my pc I'd like to think that I can install most games and play them, the way the developer intended so to speak.

thanks :)

I like the 600T especially the white edition. But I just can't really justify buying another case since mine does so well with the air flow.jtcraft

That HAF 932 is a fantastic looking case....i'd get it but its too expensive :(

Yea it is expensive, but our tech here is generally very expenvise when compared to USA and europe :( its something I gotta suck up.....

Looks like i'll be getting PC2.....i might be able to scale back to a 580 1.5gb, but we'll see...and I'll also be swapping out the case for a Corsair Graphite 600....Sexy case :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLCwBkf4o94 http://www.corsair.com/pc-cases/graphite-series-pc-case/graphite-series-600t.html http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Corsair/Graphite_600T/

Thanks for the reply!

What I'd like to know is, woudl it be a smart move to go for more GPU or CPU.....because I've essentially boiled it down to PC3 and PC4 (thanks Silicel1 for the input but I realised that buy changing the GPU to a 5803gb on PC4 you get the same pc for a lil bit less :) )

So in terms of me gaming @ 1920 x 1080, with whatever bells and whistles I can throw in, should I take the i5 + GTX580 3gbOR the i7 + GTX570OR possibly GTX580 1.5 + I5 OR GTX 580 + i7 combination?

Also what I'd like to know is, since I game @ 1920 x 1080 do I need a 3gb card?

Thanks a lot in advance guys :) :)

Hi Guys, like the topic says, I'm getting a new pc, in mid november and I'm keen to nail down what I wanna get before I start exams (gaming in the holidays = bliss :) ). What I want out of this gaming pc is solid performance for the next couple of years, I'm willing to throw in ram and another GPU, but I don't wanna have to deal with OC'ing.

I've decided that a pre-built pc might be the way to go and here are my choices (SORRY ABOUT NO HYPERLINKS, THE SYSTEM KEEPS GIVING ME AN ERROR MESSAGE:()

PC1: http://www.evetech.co.za/Computer-systems/amd-phenom-six-core-overclocked-gtx-580-extreme-gaming-desktop-93.aspx

PC2: http://www.evetech.co.za/Computer-systems/intel-core-i5-gtx-580-custom-built-extreme-gaming-pc-63.aspx

PC3: http://www.evetech.co.za/Computer-systems/intel-core-i7-overclocked-gtx-570-extreme-gaming-pc-55.aspx

PC4: http://www.evetech.co.za/Computer-systems/intel-core-i5-overclocked-gtx-570-gaming-pc-62.aspx

PC5: http://www.evetech.co.za/Computer-systems/intel-core-i5-overclocked-gtx-560-custom-built-gaming-desktop-126.aspx

So basically what I wanna know from you guys is, which pc should I get if I want a future-proof build, that is still decent value and will run games at MAX (all games, fps, rts, rpg etc) for a good long while. if you guys have time please feel free to check out that website to see if their are better deals on the site. my budget is R15000

The reasoning behind going for a pre-built pc is that I live in south Africa and our delivery systems aren't the most reliable. I could probably get any of the same setup of for around the same price anyways if I had to buy the parts and build the pc but buying one of the above pcs would mean getting my whole system setup, ready AND LIQUID COOLED overclocked from the get go, that is pretty appealing.

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my families home theatre setup

We currently have the ps3, xbox360 and our tv box, that are all hooked up to the TV by an HDMI switcher that we got, its was a fairly cheap one, The problem is that every now and then the audio in the games/tv lags behind the video, sometimes its slight and other times its literally one or two seconds behind. this is really really annoying. I'm thinking that it might be the switcher but I'm not 100% sure......If it is then we'll have to get a new one from a more trusted brand, but I just wanna make sure that I'm not m,issing out on something instead of spending money for nothing

Has anyone ever had this problem before, if so how did you fix it....

thanks :)

Hey guys...

I know this may seem like a really rookie question but it has me STUMPED!!!! How do I get the xbox live gold 30 day trial thing?!?!?!?! I've had my xbox for a while now (8 months) and I haven't ever activated my 30 day trial because of university and other stuff, but I'm on holiday now and I'm keen to try out the XBL. So coould someone please tell me how to activate it, BTW, I've had my XBL account for a long time now and I know about the message that comes up as you are registering, but since I've already registered, where do I activate the trial period....

Thanks!!!

that was a bit stupid of you....think about it, you could`ve bought the PS3 and had the best of both worlds...... NO lies I get quite bummed when I see gamers depriving themselves of awesome games....

I mean guys the console are only the canvas on which art (games) can be played, beautiful art is beautiful art no matter what canvas its on, soget as many canvases as possible!!

Btw I`m fortunate enough to have all 3 major consoles, I recently played Uncharted 1 and Gears 2 and all I can say is that i`m glad I`ve got both......if you can get both, don`t deprive yourself cos when the heavy games start rolling in and you sold it then you`ll be bummed!!!!

Hey Guys, I recently upgraded my PC and decided to try oout Half-life 2 (don't ask me why it took me so dang long, I dunno either hahaha)

ANyways, I got the latest version of steam and let it do its thing with regards to updating........Now I went and put the DVD in and installed and it seemed to have worked, steam went all funny on me and shut down after that so I restarted it and re-inserted the dvd, the startup for the game said that I could play, and when I clicked play, it opened up a box saying that I was DOWNLOADING HL2.............whats the deal with that, can anyone tell me how to just start the game, seeing as I just installed it and I really cannot download the whole thing anything cos I'm gonna hit my bandwith cap soon (The joys of living in SOuth Africa

Thanks in advance

p.s. I have the orange box, if that matters
