HDMI can upscale ps2, and Dvd . so HDMI is better atleast for me.

Fightingfan

HDMI >>> component.

Component is the best you can get for PS2, it's also the best hookup available on later SDTV's and some early HDTV's. HDMI is newer and better and if you can that's what you should be using with PS3.

[QUOTE="2Chalupas"]FYI amazon is 56.99 and gives you a $10 credit on top of that (for a future video game purchase, with no restrictions). That basically makes amazon $46.99 assuming you planned on buying ANYTHING else in the near future. It's even good for controllers/cables as long as they're in the video game section.Dracula68
And you get free release day delivery to boot(at least here in the US)

You sure about that? I tried to change my order and if I do it charges me for release date shipping. It also doesn't say anything on the GOWIII product page. Did you get it yourself or just see it posted somehwere? I saw it on slickdeals and tried it but it doesn't seem to be free.

Too many snipers, too many mortar strikes. I wouldn't say "camping" is a problem. It's actually pretty hard to be a "lone camper" successfully around the objectives, but if you are playing a sniper or trying to set up a spawn point for your squad then it's basically part of the strategy of the game. I've run into plenty of dumbasses though that do some cheap stuff. The worst thing I've seen is some guy from the opposing team was camping at our base planting C4 on the helicopter. He was acting alone - but as time has gone on I've seen a few more do it as well. He got me in the helicopter twice because I wasn't sure what happened the first time. Then I spawned and tried to go after him, but he killed me a third time. Just about smashed the controller at that one. Finally got him the 4th time. Another annoying thing is that you can bail out of a helicopter or tank at the last second right before the thing blows up. I take advantage of it when I'm in a tank. But it's annoying when you nail a tank with a missle or mortar strike and the guy bails at the last second. That's not really realistic.

hahahahaha well thats your fault! and I have no qualms with jumping out of a near death heli/tank,,,, HOW BOUT YOU JUMP OUT EARLIER? instead of waiting till the very last second haha./

The chopper crash animation is just funny to watch. I've scoped players jumping out of helicopter and it looks like they are getting shot out of a cannon when the chopper is spinning around. All of a sudden they just spawn outside the helicopter and are tossed aside. Yet unless the helicopter debri actually LANDS ON THEM, they'll pretty much always live.

With the tank, "when to bail" is almost a strategic move. When the tank explodes it gives you a little cover to run around and try to get whoever is trying to C4 or RPG you. Esp if they are trying to get close. Heck they might think you are dead when you spawn outside the tank you can sometimes catch people by surprise.

HOW ABOUT SPAWNING ON THE SQUAD YOU SHOULD HAVE JOINED INSTEAD OF BEING EASY BAIT. THEN YOU SPOT HIM, THEN YOU TELL YOUR TEAM WHERE HE IS, THEN HE HAS A 10 MINUTE HIKE BACK. HE IS NOT HELPING HIS TEAM Christ it's like you guys don't use your brain at all when you play

I usually I do spawn on a squad, but in this case I just felt like using the helicopter. I obviously could have spawned on squad or on one of the bases my team had taken over. Plus I don't have a mic anyway so it's not like I can TELL anybody where he was. Guy pissed me off and was camping in a corner so I figured it would be easy enough to take him out. Unfortunately I'm a bad aim and he was armed with a shotgun, so he one shotted me. 2nd time I got him with a grenade since the idiot went back to the same hiding spot.

Screen tearing has nothing to do with SD or HD. It is a problem with the coding of the game, and/or the game hardware not being able to achieve a smooth framerate with the way the code was written. I'm pretty sure if there is screen tearing in a game, it would appear regardless of the display technology used.. It's really a sign of laziness on the developer to release a game that has rampant screen tearing.

GOW3 is coming out on the 16th so then.Swift_Boss_A

Ha. That's exactly what I was thinking. Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, God of War III, Gran Turismo 5 when it comes out. I'm thinking it's pretty close to "full potential" already. I'm sure with each year of the PS3's life there will be slow, incremental improvements. But usually after about year 2 of a new system, when developers start getting in the swing of things, the improvements for what they can "get out of the system" are more about optimization and refinement

Frankly I cannot believe the concept of this game. Most likely it will be a pile of steaming poo.

Anyone that pays $59.99 for this game is an idiot. If it was a 14.99 PSN game it MIGHT have had a chance.

edit: sorry, it is not even an exclusive. apparantly this is a crossplatform release. good luck with that!!!

spookykid143

There trying something different so it's a pile of poo? and what does it not being exclusive have to do with anything.

The whole concept is just so "out there" that the game almost CAN"T be good. How long can over the top gratuitious violence involving TEDDY BEARS keep you entertained before the novelty wears off? Even if the gameplay mechanically had some good things, it would probably wear off after a couple hours as being stupid. Which is why I said it "might" work as a downloadable game.

I edited my original post which was "it's a PS3 exclusive so it has something going for it". But that was wrong. It's not exclusive... full retail release for both platforms.
