Granted he was strange/weird/w.e I was never 100% sure if he did what they say he did, but not being charged helped. Either way, the end of his story is a sad one, may he R.I.P. This man was music when I was a snotty nose. I have to say (I wasn't around for these) "Rock With You" and "Don't Stop Til' You Get Enough" are two of the greatest songs ever.
Have you seen/heard this **** competition? If he's not the best, he's up there, as far as mainstream goes. Yeah, I personally feel the man fell off ages ago and damn hard, but he's going to go down in history as one of the best next to the bull you see on TV today, why wouldn't he?
When his career or he's dead in gone, that's when the more recently made fans (of Weezy, or Hip Hop in general) will come in not giving a flying **** about anything's he's done because he wasn't relavant (maybe they were too young, or not rap fans at the time, w.e reason they didn't pay much attention to Weezy) and they'll be ridiculously critical of him and discredit most of what people give him credit for now, same way we talk about early 80s rap as if we were there. Just let the music run it's course. All good things must come to an end. Just listen to Nas' latest album.
