The PC demo is out, but is just the same as usual.

I don't usually get too scared by games, but on the 360 Condemned was a bit dodgy while FEAR (which I played on PC, but it's the same on 360) had it's moments.

I remember reading that it would be available in a couple of days/end of the month for everyone.

But now the 360 and PS3 demos are out in September.

Should be interesting to see another skate board game on the market, its meant to be fairly realistic too.

I've gotta say that Irrational games carried many of their ideas from SS2 to Bioshock, and the demo reminded me greatly of SS2 so I felt that it was merely a case of taking some of SS2's gameplay (hacking, email logs, psi powers, etc) and placing it in a new setting - but of course that's no bad thing! The demo is pretty good, giving you a taste of what the full game will offer. It isn't an exact copy of what the start of the game will be like though, as Ken Levine has stated that its been edited slightly.

I was considering buying it, but after trying the demo, and seeing all the other games coming out soon, I'm not too bothered. I've got to say it was sort of fun, but I can see how it'll get repetitive. The gfx aren't bad, but it was wierd and annoying at times when you automatically slide over things (but I can't see any other way of doing it). I would also prefer Max Payne (2, natch) over this becuase of the story. I wonder how many weapons will be in Stranglehold ...

I think Emilio summed it up quite well, I feel tha SH is scarier and more atmospheric (and better story), while RE does action better. However, while RE has changed the formula over the past couple of games, SH has remained fairly similar.

I used to find Thief: TDP to be a bit scary/tense, but I got used to it and have now played the trilogy. Can't think of any others atm ... maybe Commandos 1+2 ...
