Imitation is the highest form of flattery, but Haze looks like the tramp of the Halo family

Is that a mongoose and a warthog I see , get your own ideas Free radical and stop making crap games.

horrowhip

wait so any game with an ATV and a Jeep is ripping off Halo now? The fact that they are simply the best military vehicles is now void? Also, I believe they were in games before Halo but I may be wrong...

I guess Halo ripped off Unreal Tournament then as well.

exactly...

I find this funny, because Halo came out before a UT game had vehicles.

And Im sorry, LOOK at the damn screenshots, if that doesnt look like a rip off of Halo's vehicles, than you're one blind fanboy, desperate for yoru AAA FPS.

That would be like saying a pitfall game now would be awsome, simply because it was good in the past :|

GARRYTH

prince of persia sands of time ring a bell

rygar

metal gear solid

they were nes games

how about ninja gaiden

i guess metrion failed too even though give me super metriod any day over prime but they did not suck.

uncharted fixes the pitfall 3d

i name way more than your one title.

I dont htink you understood him, Garry. Your whole theory is based around "the game was a great game before, it MUST be great now." When that simply isnt true. Those games worked and was great during its time, but its a whoel different ball game now. All those games you listed had to make so many changes that it had little to no r esemblence to its old games by gameplay, and some, by art st.yle Since you brought up Prince of Persia, lets see if you really know your facts. How many GREAT PoP games after the 2D games, and before the Sands of Time, were there? Did you know how many changes developers had to make to the PoP formula to make it a GREAt game?

Your theory is just off, a name does not equal a good game. Even if that name was associated with a big game 4 generations ago. So before you pat yourself on the back for that nifty little list you put there, re-read what your original post says, and re-read what HIS post says.

Im as much of a retro gamer as any of the old folks here, but some of you need to accept CHANGE and let a series die. These a re teh same "retro warriors" that wanted "Defender" remade, and look what happened.

wow, i really like what that guy said... it sounded like well..... the truth.. something you dont hear alot from dev's alot these days... props to him, (he's with Polyphony isnt he?)

and as far as Reggie goes, he's a total ass... he has done more smack talking in the past year then I care to mention... remeber that whole stomach-turning lecture at E3 about "Nintendo takes online seriously, you just havent noticed it" It made me want to barf...

evilross

Yup, Polyphony. I remember the Reggie talks, "Nintendo will be embracing online..SOON. Until t han, you have WONDERFUL games that support WiFi Online gaming, Mario Strikers, without a doubt the best online experience you can get on ANY console."

[QUOTE="-JayWong-"][QUOTE="iunderstand"]Sony was in a lawsuit with immersion, there is a pretty significant difference there.iunderstand

Right, but they said something alone the lines of (as in, not exactly what they said) "Immersion's rumble technology would disrupt the SixAxis Motion Sensors, and between the two, Motion is by far much more next gen."

It was not only proven false, but tarnished Sony's professional image even further. You either avoid the question, state some general info on why the technology is not available, STATE that Sony is indeed interested in the technology further down the road (you know, because they obviously were), bring up the fact that Sony's Playstation has always embraced adding technology to their consoles during their lifespan (Dual Shock, and now, Dual Shock 3, s limming odnw of PS2 and taking out moving components...etc)..but to make things up...

It wasnt like they didnt have material, they DID.

I'm just saying it was more likely advice from their legal department rather than from the marketing department.

Probabaly, Sony had so many other ways to approach that answer without getting absolutely raped by the fanboys afterwards.

i think sony is the only oen thats always saying they are better then others, Microsoft actually appreciates what Ninty is doing, and from Ninty, Reggie only some times bashes other systems....sony on the other is on bashing spree all time anyways this thread also confirms Forza 2 >>>> GT5 feature wise so maybe some people can now shut up, GT5 will be great but IMO it will be a AA title, the only reason Forza 2 was AAA is coz what Yamauchi said, you can basically do anything

mingo123

I dont think Sony is the only one, Nintendo..are you kidding me? Ever since Reggie got on board he's been talking smack about some unnamed "competition." "unlike our competition, we blah blah blah." or "our c ompetition chooses to shove stuff down our customer's throat.we ... blah blah blah"

It gets tiring to hear him talk in interviews. MS..what MS does well is that they keep competition bashing to a minimum during public sconferences, but they do their fair share in interviews. However, MS really is appreciating Ninty's efforts, which I respect.

I dont agree about the GT5 thing though, I believe it will be a AAA title and effin awesome. But thats just me.

Yamauchi: Straight off the bat, I think that in terms of feature sets, Forza is ahead of us. They have more options, you can do basically anything. We take a different approach obviously - we try to concentrate on what are the core values for a racing game, and we try to elevate those standards up as high as we possibly can. I am having difficulty trying to explain the differences, but one way you can look at it is, you can buy a watch that is super multifunctional, but economical, or a watch that is reduced in functions, but premium - higher end.

Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo...THIS is how you take it like a good sport, call it for what it is, keep your respect AND dignity, all the while NOT making your product look worst than the competition. Wasn't it Phil harrison who said, "What did you expect me to say?" when questioned about Sony's arrogant remarks pre-launch? Well Phil, THIS is how we wanted you to react. THIS is how we want you to do business...respectfully and like adults. To treat the consumer's intelligence with a bit of respect and not play a game of dodgeball with words and subtle insults. Screw what Marketing 101 told you, because obviously you just come off making more enemies rather than gaining more customers.

This industry - especially since the rise of Sony and MS's fued, the rising popularity of Reggie - is turning so cut-throat. Like a bunch of school boys fighting over which one the hot girl in c.lass smiled to.

This game actually had MORE jaggies than PGR3, ugh...

Its fun, they actually got drifting right..so pulling off kudos is easier..but damn the jaggies are everywhere on the car models.
