Not the best version but still fun.
I have fond memories of the PC and Amiga versions and while this is a watered down version, it's still enjoyable.
The absolute best thing about this game is that with the Virtual Console you can save the game at any point. You can have one save point and it can be anywhere. It sort of takes the challenge out of the game but if you simply want to be able to finish the game without having to replay certain parts over and over again, it's a nice option to have.
I saw on YouTube a couple folks running into a game crashing glitch but I never experienced any such glitches.
If you're a fan of the game, have a 3DS and have five bucks to spare, you won't regret it.
I just hope Nintendo gets around to releasing the SNES version the Virtual Console...
