Port Royale 3 was a game I was following since last year, and with so few strategy games on the 360 my hopes wer high, so needless to say im a little disappointed but its over all a good game.
The graphics in my opinion are really crisp and sharp especially in the town and harbours,I do wish there was more to the battle mode but for a trading sim its really not that necessary unless your playing the pirate campaign in which case you rely on it.
But as a trading sim it is what it is,and thats not a bad thing, its actually handled quite well, this game is not for everyone 80% of you gamers could probable care less about this type of game, for me I love strategy games and this one is a nice one to add to your collection if you like trading sims, and keep in mind this is no pirates by sid miers not even close.
But for those of you who have the pateints to over come the steep learning curve, and the slow pace theres alot to like. Now I have been playing this a while now and is a blast but like I said its a required taste, gamers who like strategy and a break from the norm more then likely will like it and if your a die hard Black Ops player this is probably not your game, the game is set in the 16th and 17th century here the naval powers of Spain England, France and Holland fight for supremacy of the New World, Hundreds of trade convoys transport commodities between the towns always searching for places with surplus commodities and thoughs with high demand.
There are 60 towns to uncover and theres treasure maps to find although the go exploring on land for the x via port royale 2 is gone its still fun and a little tip from me play aggresively dont put your ships together in convoys at first, set up trade routes with one ship and let them make money trust me money early in the game is key to success, anyway thisbis a fun game and like i said its not for everyone its a required taste but if it sounds like something you may like then by all means buy it and its only $26 on amazon and well worth it.
