what makes this game worth playing is the wonderful storyline and lovable characters.

for a game that's a revamped version of two old games, i'd say it's makes a pretty good transition between the two games. honestly, i haven't played the original playstation versions but i was pretty satisfied with the storyline of this one. also it was nice to see the towns change and the people grow up as the game progresses.

my only complaint is that sometimes the the battles are too slow, and there's no way to turn off the animation for the special skills. seeing pietro cast DRAGON for the 40th time will make one just want to hurry up and get the game over with.

the winning point for me was the story itself. i really loved the story and the characters.

in terms of gameplay and sidequests, the whole game can be easily completed without the aid of a guide/walkthrough.

and for those who are interested to know more about the popolocrois story and characters, the anime provides a nice addition to your popolocrois mania.
