Pong is to video games as the abacus is to computers. Very primitive in retrospect yet ingenious. Pong is the founding father of all games. It is simply amazing to see how far games have come since this game. Pong is a very simple program that is highly addictive; Ironically, this games gets boring extremely fast. I have played many times and didn't even want to play. It is just plain addicting. Even if you never play this game, it is truly a must have for any game library, just to say you have this game. The programming for this game should be a requirement in any computer programming class. When pong first came out, it had the same effect that the internet had when the internet first came out: AWE-INSPIRING. From the simple blocky graphics to the monotone sound, this game is truly the foundation for the games we have today.
