Cute, Fun, bit Flashy, but no deep substance

Fans of the series or the Wii version will probably get a kick out of this game, unfortunately for many others they will miss the kitsch factor. To really break it down, this is a game that anyone COULD enjoy. You could give it to a five year old or a fifty year old and they could have a bit of mindless fun. The real downside of this game is that the lasting value of the game and game play simply does not exist. There is little incentive to collect more Pokemon as you more or less only need a few powerful ones to breeze through the game. Some elements of the game are a bit to simplistic for their own good as well. There is no 'block button' which I think would have suited this game quite comfortably, as such, you have to physically dodge incoming attacks or just take your lumps. The variation of 'moves' given to each of your Pokemon is interesting; however, I found that there were some moves that were pretty much useless.

All in all a good diversion but far from a perfect game.
