While it has its issues, Pokemon Emerald stands out much more than Ruby and Sapphire ever did.

User Rating: 8.1 | Pocket Monsters Emerald GBA
The first pokemon series introduced to the Gameboy advance was Ruby and Sapphire. Ruby and Sapphire kicked up GBA sales and software rentals. But as everyone played the game, it was more unusual than anyone would have ever thought of. Ruby and Sapphie was a success in sales, yet the game itself had some problems. Now in 2005, Emerald has arrived, promising more than just unusual gameplay. But is it really all that worth the 35 dollars? Gameplay: As always, Nintendo and Game Freak use the same reiterated, yet classic gameplay to Emerald. The aerial view of things give the player much more ease to control the character and simplify all the junk in between. I believe it is perfect in a sense where it can't get any simpler or better than Pokemon's easy gameplay. And with over 35-40+ hours, it's sure to make you stay in bed for quite some time. Graphics: This is interesting because Game Freak did not bother to make Pokemon Emerald a better looking game. Game Freak just slapped 16-bit graphics onto the GBA and went on with the other parts of the game. While it does look much better with nice but short animations of the pokemon, graphics were not as concentrated as much as the gameplay itself. Sound: The sound is fine. As I said before this is reiterated. The sound is just a re-recording of the same Ruby and Sapphie versions. It's attractive and doesn't get old, but it's the same old same old. Value: I personally don't think this is worth 35 dollars. I think it's worth getting, but not at the price they sell it at. You pay 35 dollars for a wireless enabled game, yet it doesn't come with a wireless adapter. So, Nintendo basically ripped us off here. Conclusion: Pokemon Emerald is just a remake of Ruby and Sapphire, but since Ruby and Sapphire is still pretty new, Emerald doesn't have the right to say it brings back nostalgic memories of Ruby and Sapphire. Emerald is basically the same thing as they did with Gold and Silver when they introduced Crystal... So, in other words, If you liked Ruby and Sapphire, get Emerald. If you didn't like it a teensy bit of R and S, don't get it because for some time in the game you will be bored to death by playing the same junk all over again except in a different colored cartrdge.
