This is completely different from the usual pokemon games. Instead, you must battle 8 trainers, and the pokemon league as well as the pokemon master. But, you don't battle with pokemon moves, you must instead try to match 3+ blocks in a row or column. And, by creating chains you continuously add larger and larger blocks onto the other player. The game ends after the players screen has been filled to the top for a few seconds. However, when you clear blocks or the trash sent by the other player, then the time "freezes" and you don't die until you are not clearing something. This game is definately for the quick minded and handed, or you will never clear the harder modes. although the main story is in 2-d, you can play 3-d against a single computer or another player in 2player mode.
The music is pretty good, although the trainers saying do get quiet old. The pokemon noises are entertaining tho. All the voices are either used from the shows as well as the pokemon noises.
The puzzles that you can do, ( trying to clear all the pieces in X amount of turns ) become exetremely hard and are in both 2d and 3d. Some of the take a very long time to figure out, but give you a feeling of great accomplishment when you do.
The two player is one of the best things about the game, because it's so fun. The main game gets somewhat boring after awhile, but it's always fun to beat the crap out of your friends. The best is the 2player battle, for the line clear is not very fun at all.
Although not necessarily the best pokemon game, it is still really fun to play if you like puzzle games. It doesn't have the best story, but is one of the hardest games to win on the hardest mode. If your looknig for a fun puzzle game, or a really challenging one, this is the game to get
