This game was part of my childhood, and I'm glad it was.

Pokemon Gold/Silver is the sequel to the highly successful Pokemon Red/Blue game, and it is better than the first one. Gold/Silver adds a whole new generation of Pokemon to catch, as well as a whole new region to explore and conquer. Not only that, but the entire Kanto region and all of the original 151 Pokemon are available to catch as well.

Gold/Silver puts you in the role of a new trainer, who lives in New Bark Town, which is located in the brand new Johto region. Like Red/Blue, you get your first Pokemon from the Pokemon Professor in town, Prof. Elm. You also obtain a Pokedex from Prof. Oak to record the data of the brand new generation of Pokemon in the Johto region. Along the way, you become rivals with an boy you know nothing about, except for the fact that he wants to be the greatest Pokemon Trainer ever, and you're in his way. There are also 8 new Gyms in Johto where you can obtain 8 badges to be able to confront the Elite Four and become Pokemon Champion.

In addition to all of this, you get access to the entire Kanto region, and all 8 of those Gyms as well. That's right. Two entire regions to explore, and a total of 16 badges to acquire. But that's not all. You also get to battle the original Elite Four from the Kanto region as well. There is also an epic final battle with a certain Trainer that will remain unnamed for sake of spoilers.

Linking up with your friend has also returned. So, you can do battle with your friend, as well as trade Pokemon with them to help complete each others Pokedex.

In conclusion, Pokemon Gold/Silver is one of the greatest games I've ever played. It is really two games in one, since you get to explore Kanto region in addtion to Johto. Gold/Silver takes everything that Red/Blue did right, and makes it even better. Gold/Silver will truly go down as a classic. A masterpiece.
