This game is a friggin masterpiece! You will probably get addicted to it when you start playing the first time. The Length is also good so you won't get bored so easily. Let me go more in detail about this game.

OK so as I was saying, the game is very well made. The new pokemon and the addition of the old Kanto pokemon was nice. And once you beat the Johto Elite Four, you can go back to Kanto! Some things in Kanto are changed but I won't say what is.

The storyline is like all pokemon games, so not much is to say about it.

The music is very catchy. Goldenrod City has the best music (in my opinion). Also, the tune when riding your bike is a remix of Goldenrod's music, since you get the bike in Goldenrod City.

The characters are well, normal... I guess. 8 gym leaders, Team Rocket, you, Prof. Elm, Prof. Oak, your rival, your mom (hehehe "your mom"), Mr. Pokemon, Lance and the Elite Four, and obviously, the pokemon. Oh, I and almost forgot: THE 8 GYM LEADERS IN KANTO (except for Koga, cuz he's in the Johto Elite Four.)

I won't say much about the graphics, since it's for the GameBoy Color, so not much to expect.

So in the end, the game is very good and is worth buying, not renting. I know I gave a few spoilers, but just deal with it.
