Quintessential flabbergast.

Me use big words! Now on to the review.
The only reason I ever got to play this game was by pure chance; it was together with two other games in a 3 games package. I really wanted the two other, one being Yoshi's Island, which had just come out, and another which I can't quite remember. Well, anyway, I played Yoshi's Island (and loved it), and the other game. It was about this time that I thought I might as well give Plok a try. And this point I hadn't even looked at the box, so I didn't know what I was in for.

Well the gameplay is your typical platformer, where your object is to get to the end of the level, while killing enemies and not dying. However I does have an original element in the fact, that it's your body parts you shoot in order to kill enemies, which I found quite ingenious. And the game has real incentive to go back and play through it again, because there plenty of hidden areas.

While playing through the game you can pick up "power-up", so you can get different abilities, like a flamethrower. Not only does it have it have some original gameplay, it also have humour, though not in abundant amounts. The best part of the game is when you play as Plok's grandfather as the whole game goes into Black and White.

The graphics are colorful and quite good, though not astounding. There's nothing there really sticks out in my mind about the graphics, except that their pretty. The soundtrack in this is pretty varied, so some might like some levels, while others might like some completely different ones. As a whole, i liked the soundtrack, but the sound-effects could get quite annoying. The best part in the intro track.

While not all will like this game, I think you should give it a try, maybe you'll be as pleasantly surprised as I was.
