Before I begin its important to explain the difference between Planetside and your average run of the mill shooter. A normal FPS when played online can host at the most 64 individuals who are playing with large to severe lag. Planetside can easily host three unique teams each with 150 plus players at a time, where talking large-scale wars involving 450 or more people battling over huge areas of land. There is nothing quite like it available today other then Dark Age of Camelot, but in Dark Age those kinds of numbers (which are rare) would give you crippling lag. In Planetside these battles are raging 24/7 and at most will give you a tiny bit of lag, if that. All your basic armaments are there for your enjoyment, machine guns, grenade launchers, rocket rifles, jeeps, tanks, and aircraft. All given a sci-fi flare to there functions and looks.

Sounds great right? Well, its is! That is until they added Robots.

To put it simply, if your not piloting one of these things then your butt belongs to them. Difficult to kill because they can just jet away when there shields get low, BFR's have become the scourge of the battlefield. Even after numerous nerfs to there abilities.

Your always going to have your whiners and complainers in a MMO, crying about such and such needs to be removed, in this case they are right. Will Sony do it? No. The only thing keeping Planetside going now is the Station Pass that allows customers to play all Sony MMO’s for one fee. Without that I fear PS would have had its plug pulled months ago.
