I'll keep this short + to the point (considering it's free to try, so why not do so instead of reading lengthy reviews)

User Rating: 9 | PlanetSide 2 PC
Planetside 2 is a massively multiplayer FPS which offers a really fun experience. The game is entirely free to play, so i definitely recommend downloading it and trying it if you're interested in multiplayer FPS games.

What makes this a little different is the scope of the battles. There is so much happening at once and you really do feel like you're a small but important part of a much larger scale fight.

Here are some pros and cons real quick

Pros
- There is always something going on. Always several large scale fights to join. You are never bored in this game (nor doing monotonous tasks like some other MMOs/online games)
- The game is huge, there is plenty to do and see.
- Playing this with friends or a group doubles (at the very least) the fun
- Several classes and a long list of things to work toward. Can change class any time to play a different role
- You get an experience here that you really just can't get anywhere else
- constantly being updated

Cons
- In my opinion the blue faction needs some work done on their weapons. Each group boasts various advantages over the others, but the Blue groups extra damage doesn't mean anything with the annoying recoil (generally noticeable with light units)
- Being it's a new game you've got a few people who are exploiting/hacking or whatever. I once got repeatedly shot as i respawned through both safe barriers and walls for about 5 mins. At this point i just logged in and dropped to a new zone so it wasn't too bad. But i think they need to crack down on these kinda things asap too.
- Those who sink money into the game will have a better time. Those who play it entirely free will need to work a lot harder and for a lot longer to get more variety of weapons etc.

A great game overall, FPS fans will love it.

I might note that i am NOT really an FPS fan and i still enjoyed it. I can't say it's been pulling me back in as much as it might others, but i can both recognise and appreciate the fact that this game is awesome. When i do play it, i have a great time. Considering it's free, that puts it more then one up on most of the recent releases that you pay for. (which have sucked imo)
