Some tweaks and it would be one of the best games on PSN.

User Rating: 7.5 | PixelJunk Eden PS3
When you buy a PSN or Xbox Arcade Title, realize you aren't getting the next Ocerna of Time or Final Fantasy 7. Most of the time, they're shorter games you're hoping to fill some of the time you have without dropping 65 dollars. Pixel Junk: Eden does a decent job, but you pay the price eventually.

It's innovative, visually stunning, and most of the time, rather fun. It has a small learning curve, since you've never played many games like it, but you'll eventually be jumping around like a moron in no time.

You play as a grimp. I don't really know what it is either. You bust up pollen prowlers who drop pollen that you collect to fertilize seeds. You jump in the full seed and it pops up into a flower that will allow you to access more seeds. Eventually, you reach the goals, the spectras. Those spectra are how you progress levels.

It looks great, I can't quit saying that. It proves that you don't have to have detailed pimples on someone's rear to be visually stunning. The game was fun most of the time. The levels didn't get boring. It's easy to really get engrossed in the game. But there is a downside.

There's an unforgiving clock. A couple of slip ups and you're done. Some of the latter levels are overly…. hard. I don't like complaining about difficulty. But there's no way to tone it down to give it a practice go. There's a crazy clock that makes it almost unfair. I couldn't beat it because of this. I probably would have gotten it, but eventually, it made me mad.

I appreciate the challenge, but something… unfair like really makes the game fall short. They had me hooked and ruined it.

Gameplay – 8.0
Everything is great when it's running smoothly, it's just mind numbing when you fail and pay so harshly. The trophies are fairish, but there's no gold, which I think hurts. But more on that in tilt.

I don't recall any times where I went to make a move and it didn't work because of game mechanics. I might miss the timing, I might over judge a jump, but it was my fault and not the games. It was a little harsh at times with the precision needed, but until the latter levels, it didn't get really unfair.

Graphics – 9.5
It really looks amazing. It isn't MGS4, but that's because it wouldn't make sense to have such detailed characters. It's amazing in a artsy sense. It's like seeing someone draw something that looks fantastic. Yeah, something out there could make something more lifelike, but that's not always what it's about.

Sound – 7.0
A little generic to be honest. Nothing special here.

Value – 8.5
It's worth the price, has some good playtime to it, but it gets too frustrating at the end. The low level trophies for such hard work isn't really fair.

Tilt – 7.5
The trophies are there, which is awesome, but they're so… weak. A bunch of bronze that are harder to get than some of the gold trophies I've gotten. It makes you want to pick up Superstar Dust or something because you feel like you're taking babysteps in a marathon.

The leaderboards are a nice touch, I was ranked decently for a while and let me try to get higher and higher on those boards.

Online/Multiplayer – 6.5
Well… the multiplayer was difficult to use. But to be honest, I don't know how to make it better. I don't think it really makes a great multiplayer game. Maybe they should have left

What would Wafer change?
A difficulty slider would have helped. Maybe a different mode or two, where you could do a time attack or some sort of hot potato where you get a certain spectra at a certain order, something like that. I wouldn't be the best in concept for a game like this, but maybe I could offer advice.
