Classic high score adventure with the original tomb raider.

Pitfall is an icon in old school gaming, and a quintessential title for the Intellivision system.

You're given 20 minutes in the game to get the highest score you can get by collecting gold.

Along your way are death and obstacles to deplete your available time. These include lakes, crocodiles (or alligators, I was never really sure), scorpions, rolling logs, snakes, pits (of course), and more.

Twenty minutes is all you're really need too, because although the action is fun, it can get tiresome. As you move from screen to screen, the mix of obstacles and enemies get changed up and varied. And there's only thing to do in the face of the adversities: jump over them. Well, you can also swing over some of them using vines, but really that's just an extended jump.

So of what fun the game does have to offer, you'll see most all of in the first 5 minutes, and unfortunately I don't think it stood the test of time as well as some of the other titles for the system. It's fun to pop in every now and then, but after playing one session, I would get my fix for a while.

Designed for those that get a rush from beating a high score, it's still a generally relaxing time while you play, if that's what you're in the mood for. The action isn't nerve racking, and the pace won't make your palms sweat, but you'll still have to be on your toes.
