Normally a game made by Disney is an immediate red flag. After I saw a commercial on Comedy Central and saw it was free, I decided to try it. I made a pirate (Solomon BladeSkull :D), and I got a ship, sailed around and blew up my foes with cannons. You can get a fairly large group of people together, form a crew, hop on one ship and go blast stuff. That's the highlight of the game, if you're not into questing. As far as quests go, they're quite limited and if you have a basic free membership they're even more so. It's one of many limiting factors of a basic free membership. While it's not a free trial, you are quite limited.

With a basic membership you can't:

1. Buy/own any other kind of ship in the game other than the tiny one you start with.

2. Complete the main storyline quest

3. Level past 10

4. Learn to use any other kinds of weapons other than sword, and pistol.

5. You can only have the game on full screen mode for the first 7 days

6. Make a Guild (you can join one though, which is nice)

7. Play some of the parlor games (card games)

8.Login immediately, you're put on a queue to play which in my experience is about a 1 to 5minute wait.

The community is...well it's Disney. The people (at least ones I met) weren't very helpful, whats also very annoying is the chat filter. Yes, I know Disney wants to make it family friendly but its overdone. If you misspell a word, and hit enter it appears as "arrg" or "yarrg" or some other overused pirate word.
The filter does block out most profanity, except hell, I don't know why. You can't say "what the flip?" but you're free to say to say what I said after playing this: "what the hell?". An MMO like this is best for kids, a "My First MMORPG" kind of game, which sounds like I'm bashing on it but I'm really not. Many MMOs out there are very over complicated and it's nice to see one that my little brother can pick up and play.

Wanna live in the movies? Big Disney fan? Then I recommend it. Want a pirate MMO thats got more bells and whistles? Then I recommend Pirates of the Burning Sea. Like Ninjas more than Pirates? I recommend you die in a fire, Pirates beat Ninjas hands down.
