Decent Graphics, Quirky Gameplay

User Rating: 7 | Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection X360
Let's face it – There is no substitute for playing a real pinball machine and there never will be. However, thanks to modern technology, developers are able to come close, at least visually and audibly. In this updated version of "Pinball Hall Of Fame – The Williams Collection", Crave does a decent job of capturing some of that "old school" magic from the arcades. Sounds are awesome, lighting is great, and every piece of the playing fields looks shiny and fresh from the factory! The "Smart Cam" does a pretty good job of following the ball and allowing you to view those tiny, well-replicated details. But, since they're trying to squeeze vertical tables within a horizontal space, be prepared to sit closer to your screen or purchase a bigger television in order to fully appreciate the graphics and physics. Missing from this collection are other classic Williams games such as "Cyclone" and "Black Knight 2000". The game also lacks an online multiplayer option, which could have been implemented simply by taking turns at the table. Instead, it keeps track of your high scores through online leader boards. Overall, it's a nice piece of nostalgia. Yet, it's camera awkwardness might make you "crave" the real thing!
