Imagine Pokemon Pinball... Without the Pokemon....Or the fun
Now, every game has it's good points, as does this and that good point is the size of the tables. I would say they are bigger than that of Pokemon Pinball, but the actual ball is smaller, which may be the reasoning behind my observation.
The tables themselves are lacking detail. They are really bog standard and have very few special things. I don’t know what to call them. In Pokemon Pinball you could catch Pokemon, in Kirby’s Pinball Land you could… Well, what couldn’t you do? There was slots, boss levels, everything! But this game has none. Zip. Nada. Nout. Nothing. This makes it no better than those crummy pinball games you get free on your mobile phone. This is the perfect game to pick up and play, which is another plus point. You won’t want to spend more than 10 minutes on this anyway. This is a quality similar to that of Kirby’s Block Ball. You don’t spend long on it, but you can’t stick it it large doses.
The controls are perfect. I can’t fault them. Simple A for left flipper and B for right flipper. Perfect. Much the same as other GB pinball games. Less really is more, I guess.
This has been a difficult game to review. It’s so monotonous and linear. It just doesn’t hold it’s own against the like of Kirby’s Pinball Land, Pokemon Pinball and Revenge Of The Gator. However, pick this up quite cheap and you will have a few minutes of fun.
Gameplay- 5/10
It’s pinball. Without any of the fun found in other GB Pinball games.
Sound- 5/10
Boring SFX, boring music, boring everything.
Graphics- 4/10
The ball could be too small for those with really bad eyesight. Virtually no detail on the “themed” tables.
Value- 710 A redeeming feature. Perfect for pick up and play, but will make you internally vomit if you play it long enough.
Pros-
- 3 big tables
- Errr
- Ummm
- Ran out of good things to say
Cons- - Everything else - Boring - Graphics are pathetic.
Alternatives- Kirby’s Pinball Land, Pokemon Pinball and Revenge Of The Gator all Pinball games available for GB, yes, the big grey brick, not the smooth slick SP
There is no reason to buy this game, but there is a LOT of reasons not to buy it. Get it only in a 2-for-1 sale or cheap
