Looks great, sounds great, but kind of repetitive.

When I first saw the screens of Patapon here on GameSpot, I immediately thought of LocoRoco. Patapon has much of that game's look, sound and feel; from the cutesy singing round creatures to the clean cartoonish graphics, it all seems very related. Owners of LocoRoco know how this makes for a great playing experience: there's nothing more fun than having a bunch of blobs run around at your command. Also, controlling your fighting eyeballs using drums is very innovative and fun.
So what's not to like? Well, playing the game for more than a few hours. Every level, whether it's hunting or fighting, consists of marching, fighting, and... oh, wait, that was it. After three levels you already feel like you've all done it before, except the background and the enemies looked different.
So here's my advise: buy this game if you thought the LocoRoco were cute, but not if you want something more challenging than the first level of LocoRoco over and over again.
