From the creators of Locoroco comes...a crazy game with weapon-using eyeballs and big monsters to fight! All for $20!

User Rating: 9 | Patapon PSP
Little eyeballs that can be born from sticks and stones...and metal ores...and meat, of course. Big monsters that can easily smash, crush, and eat said little guys. And of course, the only way to fight back...is tribal drums.

Sounds crazy, I know. But that is a summary of what this great game supposedly is. And I mean great because it is. You play as a God to a very depreciated tribe of people known as Patapons. You are destined to guide your little guys on the way to the promised land at Earthend...but in order to do so, you must journey there and face the enemy tribe known as Zigotons, a ruthless and Patapon-looking tribe, as well as facing other bad enemies. Armed with spears, swords, axes, and bow-and-arrows, your journey with your tribe seems simple, yes? Well, then it would be boring if all you did was push the X button to attack. No, that is where tribal drums comes in.

Throughout the early stages of the adventure, you will locate four tribal artifacts that map a drum sound to each of the 4 face buttons: Pata to Square, Pon to Circle, Chaka to Triangle, and Don to the X button. You will also gain songs that will allow you to advance, defend-and-retreat, and attack...and even perform miracles, such as making it rain in areas that would incinerate your Patapons. And with rhythmic beating and properly coordinated efforts, you steer your Patapon tribe through each battle against both Zigotons and giant bosses, which range from a giant crab to a dragon and even to a walking golem-like monster.

Of course, the graphics and soundtrack are well developed for such a game, and with proper rhythm utilized with performing tribal songs and facing your enemy, Patapon guarantees a worthwhile experience that is also worth the price ($20 bucks!).
