Visually and aurally appealing, but lacks any kind of lasting game play.

I'll be the first to say that this game is brilliantly designed. The graphics, animation, sound, and music are all superb. The game's story line is fresh and the game mechanics are unique and fun. There is no denying the artistic appeal of this game at all. Unfortunately art doesn't make a great game.

The game play becomes repetitive to the point of boredom after the 5th or 6th mission, and while the game labels itself as "light strategy" I think that's pushing it. Yes, there is some semblance of strategy in the game but for the most part it's just spacing your troops out at the correct distance to attack, attack, rinse, repeat. The commands to do all these tasks are a series of four rhythmic key presses. They're not all the same key presses, though, so you'll actually have to memorize the key pattern and rhythm to execute commands. Cool in theory but grows old quickly.

Bottom line is it's a $20 title. Is the title worth $20? Sure it is for no other reason than the artistic license used to create the game alone. Just don't expect a game that you'll be playing for hours or days at a time. It's a cute one-trick pony.
