Paper Mario is quite unique among the Mario franchise. Sure there have been Mario RPGs in the past, but what sets Paper Mario apart from the others is that, well, Mario & Co. are two dimensional paper figures. Now if you've never played this game before it hit the Virtual Console, don't be put off by the words "paper" and "two".

Paper Mario, for its time, revolutionized the way we viewed a game and its graphics. Paper Mario is one of those games that proves that you don't need fancy three dimensional graphics and realistic cutscenes to enjoy a game. With a unique and creative style, you'll come to enjoy the surrounding environments and humor that comes from this paper Mushroom Kingdom.

To focus on the story itself, it's the same basic plot any Mario fan is familiar with. Bowser has kidnapped Princess Peach and it's up to Mario to save the princess and the Mushroom Kingdom. What differs from other Mario games is that you'll see a totally new cast of characters that will help you along your adventure. A Goomba who informs you of your enemies and your surroundings, a Koopa that uses his shell to grab items, a Bob-Omb that lets you use her explosive power, and many more!

This game, like many RPGs, is very long and full of adventure. Never will you feel that the gameplay is repetitive because the battles keep adding new elements and strategies to defeat a certain type of enemy. Supporting characters will make you laugh and the story will only draw you in even more as you progress through the chapters.

Paper Mario is a must for anyone you loves the Mario franchise and fancies themselves some role playing action, Mushroom Kingdom style.
