An excellent RPG classic!

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year door is an innovative, inventive, and highly entertaining game. The graphics are beautiful, the battles, puzzles, and dialogue are amazing, and the story is incredibly interesting. In short, the game offers everything a gamer could ask for, and more.
When Peach sends Mario a treasure map from a foreign land, Mario just has to go investigate. When he arrives, he finds that the princess is missing and, naturally, begins his search for her. Sounds like just another Mario game? That changes fast. Mario soon is trying to foil a plot for world domination by an unknown force, and the story just keeps getting better as the game progresses. The story is, quite arguably, one of the best in any Mario game, and it never stops giving surprises.
The partners are incredibly unique and useful, both in and out of battle. Goombella, the first edition to Mario's party, Is quite useful, giving information on virtually every person, enemy, and place in the game. Not to mention that there is something immensely satisfying about blowing up several enemies with Bobbery the bomb-omb.
The side quests are definitely worth doing. Badges are collected throughout the game, and the additional attacks and power-ups that they provide are vastly important. The pit of 100 trials, in which Mario must go through 100 rooms of battles, is one of the most entertaining parts in the game. With timed races and a personal cook, the game doesn't stop throwing surprises.
My favorite part of the games is the battles. Like other Mario RPGs, you press a certain button at the correct time to execute an attack or defensive move. The enemies are numerous and unique, and are challenging enough to keep you on your toes. The bosses are even more entertaining. If nothing else, the thousand year door is worth playing for the battles.
One of the only things keeping The Thousand Year Door from being perfect is slightly stale elements from the previous game in the series, but there are plenty of other parts to keep one entertained. If you love RPGs, The Thousand Year Door is for you.
