Easily the best Saturn game ever, and one of the most fun and innovative RPGs of all time.

The hype surrounding this game around the time of its release was incredible; I enjoyed the Panzer Dragoon games, but wasn't blown away by them, so I was not caught up in the craze. Luckily, I did decide to pick it up. The opening was over half an hour long, and cinematic in a way that was unprecedented at the time. I was impressed, but still skeptical; movies are fine, but without great gameplay they just aren't enough (see Xenosaga ep. I, but I digress...).

Once I got into the game proper, I was instantly hooked. Flying around on the dragon was incredibly fun, battle was position-based and innovative, the dragon's type was incredibly customizable on-the-fly, and the developer had been so ambitious in every detail. My only gripe is that the story is very linear, which squanders the chance to scour an open world for adventure on your dragon, but exploring the individual areas is very fun and rewarding.

In short, I cannot recommend this game highly enough if you can find a copy and love RPGs.
