User Rating: 9 | Pac-Man Collection GBA
Mainly around the time of mario and before sonic there was another mascot the ruled the generation of popular gaming, an eating machine or yellow ball if you prefer. Pac-man was a legend of arcade gaming and now he brings his games to the GBA. Even after all these years, youll still be hungry for a few more dots.

This review is done through each game separately

Pac-man ( original) 9.5/10: The classic that started it all still holds up a charm to pic up and play this simple game. You go around eating dots avoiding ghost and eating fruit once they appear, you may eat the ghost when you power up with the power dot but it only last a limited time. This process repeats over and over but adds its variety along the way. You encounter more fruit, some nice little scenes after every few stages, an extra life at 10,000 points and the power dot weres off quicker and quicker to increase difficulty. The 2 different camera perspectives change the view of the game but deliver about the same experience, which is fun. Surprisingly long, but the repeating never gets bothersome. Youll enjoy eating thousands ( and even 10,000s) of dots with the sound "waka-waka" as you play this istant legend of gaming.

Pac attack 8.5/10: Pac-mans formalu of eating ghost decided to settle with a new route. What feels to be a Pac-man version of Tetris but with enough difference to be a game of its own. Like tetris you stack blocks but also a few ghost, then every 3rd or 4th block will have pacman sitting on the block and once its placed down he goes around eating the ghost. As you continue to do this, you build strategy and fill up a bar that can make a fairy appear to wipe out all ghost. Once the blocks have reached the top to a certian limit ( like another block wont fit anywhere else) the game is over. Puzzle mode offers more challange to the standard play. You must eliminate all the ghost within a certain number off moves. This does contian 100 levels of challenge but requires you to remember a 3 letter password, you may remember it but it becomes frustrating at times where you put the game down for a while and not remember it when you come back. Writing it down will solve this problem and this should keep you from enjoying the rest of this game.

Pac-Mania 9/10: This returns to pac-man's original gameplay but with a few improvements one a simple but very helpful added feature. What was pac-man in 2D is now in 3D and the game looks beautiful for its time. The added feature is the jump button, now Pac-man can jump over the ghost preventing early deaths. Level design is alot more colorful and is full of variety from a lego land to a swamp, some nice cut scenes again and new sounds effects that fit in just fine. It still does add its difficulty like a normal game would too because after a while the ghost get faster and even learn to jump. Bringing Pac-man to the 3D world was not an easy task but the few added features bring the classic fun up to date in more modern times.

Pac-man Arrangement. 10/10: This game is not known very well, which is a shame because it contians ideas, level design, and music that brings Pac-man to his best. Gameplay is once again similar to Pac-man, but also so different. Level designs are unique by adding speed burst, mulitple levels for one board, warp zones, special items that cause unusual events and even a new ghost. The new ghost combines with others to form super ghost, super blinky can make dashes across the board, Super Inky can jump, Super pinky clones herself, and Super Sue will spit out more dots to eat. There is also for the 1st time a final boss which you make it to without that much of a hassle. The game also offers continues rather than starting over so you may experience the whole game as it brings down the difficulty level compared to the past games. It will certianly feel like a new Pac-man game in this anniversery treat.

This game brings back old school memories while at the same time showing the newer generation of kids what gaming can really be about.
