This game is seriously one of the best first person shooters I have ever played.

Every now and then comes a game out of the dark that surprises me, I might take one look at it and think it total garbage but upon playing further discover a gem. I discovered Outlaws when I received a demo disk of Lucas Arts games in the 90s. On this disc was Dark Forces 2 (SICK!), Yoda Stories, some Jurassic Park RTS, and Outlaws. I played the Dark Forces 2 demo I don't know how many times and finally checked out the other games. Yoda Stories was terrible and then I booted up Outlaws. It was like a wild-west Doom and just immediately screamed AVERAGE to me compared to the awesomeness of Dark Forces 2. But I finished the demo and moved on, a few years later I saw the game on sale for like 10 bucks and decided to go home and nostalgia hard by playing it.

What I thought I was getting was Doom with wild-west skins. What I got was the greatest Wild West adventure I've ever played, though I have heard Red Dead Redemption can top it. Outlaws has fully voiced animated cut scenes that looks like a cartoon but is still incredibly mature and badass. The protagonist is a Clint Eastwood copycat who spits one-liners while blasting enemies and solving puzzles. There's a ton of weapons, a train level, a long campaign, two discs, tons of extra content and levels, a fantastic soundtrack, great voice acting, memorable villains, and even though I've only played it LAN the multiplayer was incredibly fun. Outlaws is a classic that in my opinion trumps even Doom. It's that sick.
