This game is worth it for the in game camera and the massive scale of fighting

II picked this game up after it went on sale on Steam. I played for it awhile, got bored of it, and stopped playing. I recently started playing it again and started to really use the in game camera button with great frequency. It made all the difference…the game became an absolute blast. It was awesome to get right in there with the troops, especially on massive charges (and the massive charges are a lot of fun). I really haven't been able to stop playing it since then.

The in game camera really gives you the flavor of what it's like to be a grunt in ww2 with bullets flying everywhere and your comrades being mowed over by machine gun fire. You get right in there with the explosions and smoke. I like it even better than ww2 first person shooters in that you get to see war up close from several different angles. It feels very personal.

Also, the scale of the fighting is pretty unique. There are tons of tank, airplanes, and soldiers all fighting at once. I have not seen it on this level in very many, if any, ww2 or beyond rts games. Again, it is fun to see so many troops going for an objective or swarming a town.

What I don't like about the game is the voice acting (especially the general) and it somewhat buggy. I just turned off the music. Sometimes it runs a little choppy and loads a little slow, even on a higher end system. The graphics are nice but certainly could be better. Nonetheless, if you are a war games fan, I would definitely recommend getting this game. I think you can pick up from the bargain bin pretty easily.

I only wish there was a modern war game on the scale of this one with the in game camera. Perhaps someday somebody will make an amped up version of World in Conflict (my favorite rts), on the same scale as this game.
