OMF, for lack of a better word, is awesome. The game is quite old now being released in 1994 (Gamespot has it listed as being released in 1995), but with Dos Box you can almost bring back the original, glorious, experience. The game's premise is that in the future, viewers from around the word essentially watch today's ultimate fighting, but instead of the combats being unarmed and unarmored, they are neurally linked to massive war machines, 'mechs as fluid as man, and battle for pay and glory. The game features a quick single player section that allows you to play with various characters and unlock their stories through quick pre-battle dialogue between them and their opponents as your battles progress. It also features online and single PC multiplayer. The real fun part of the game, however, is tournament play. Here, you can create a pilot and enroll in various tournaments, battling your way up the ladder and getting paid for each victory. With money, you can upgrade your bot, train your pilot, or buy other bots. You lose money when you lose a match, and if you become indebted your technician will sell bot upgrades to pay for your debt. The best part of the game, in my opinion, is the sound. The music is, to this date, my favorite game music I have ever heard. It is the perfect pump up music that gets you ready for a fight. This is an excellent game that you should play if you like fighting games. Just make sure you have super human reflexes at the higher levels, because the game plays very quickly on modern PCs.
