Okami is vast and if it hadn't been for the task list in the pause menu I would've been lost. This is the first time I've played a game so innocent, childish, colorful and fun. The brush technique is refreshingly different because it hasn't been done in any games with a high rating (or any games for that matter). The combat in the game is a no brainer but fighting isn't what this game is about; it's about exploration and wonder. Okami is all visual and it will be one of the few final games to make a stand on the PS2 for it's breathtaking flora and fauna. What will cause a small degree of annoyance is the incoherent sound effects made by the characters when they communicate by text (and understandably so). One needs to wonder why this game wasn't released for the Game Cube because it "belongs" to that platform. Sadly I had to return it before I could finish the story. So if you want to see off Ammy to the very end do buy it and don't rent it. Just one word of caution though: this game may not be everyone's cup of tea.
