Given all of the hype I really wanted to love this game, alas that was not the case.

After a long time spent going through review after review, singing this game's praises I decided to buy it. It was cute and somewhat charming at first but nothing amazing like the reviewers had claimed but I held out for more. I'm over half one done and I got this game a year ago, I've been dragging my heels playing it. I'm trying to get my money's worth by finishing it so I can at least trade it in knowing I gave it a shot. The graphics are unique and pretty. The story...eh it's okay I suppose. I find the characters beyond ridiculous and usually not in a good way. I just find this whole game very dull, lots of side quests to do but they are the essence of busy work and a hassle. Maybe its because i'm a girl i'm even more annoyed by this game than I should be i.e. every female who isn't an elderly woman is a babe with an awesome rack. Something tells me that feudal japan wasn't crawling with busy beauties, no nation is. The gameplay is very easy, all of the non bosses and mini-bosses are avoidable and the random battles are easy and fast, only requiring button mashing. Nothing spectacular. I do like the concept of the celestial brush but the rest of the game really doesn't make me find it remotely likeable. It's disappointing, because after hearing such good things about this game I was hoping it would be an instant favorite. Obviously that's not the case, feel free to play this game and make your own opinion. Hopefully many others will be agreeing with the positive reviews out there, and that they'll thorougly enjoy the experince, because no one likes playing a crappy game.
