Paintball game

User Rating: 5 | NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 PS3
Edit: Played more, awful ai. I literally can run down the field and not take cover and win that way in all matches. Get Greg Hasting 2 instead

This review is coming from a paintballers, so I was a little nice to this game

Graphics 5/10
The graphics in this game is nothing stunning, think of Greg Hasting Max but slightly better. The animation can be a little choppy, when you see the opponents running and stuff. The character models are pretty ugly, when you go pick your character they all look the same with the same skin tone. The bunkers look ok also, they look the same as greg hasting max. But remember it is about gameplay first then graphics. I have also notice, when looking into the crowd while paintballing, they move in unison like a dance.

Sound 6/10
The sound is ok, not like you are suppose to hear much. All of the guns sound the same, well to me anyway. For most of the game the only thing you will hear is the commentary, you yelling your teammates what to do, paintballs, and guns shooting.

Gameplay 7/10
In my opinion the most important thing in a game. The gameplay is what you expect to be, paintball. I have played for about 2 hours, and the game can get a little boring at times. The AI on both team is decent they can be stupid at times. One time I was just camping waiting for the enemy ai to come and catch the flag, the take the flag then I just light them up. Not really realistic. Sliding feels awkward, if you jump it feels like you are slowly hovering in the air. Snap shooting is akward, I honestly think people don't shoot like that. You can switch hands for the people wondering.
The ai can be really easy at times, so you should put the difficulty to pro, and up your stats slightly don't go overboard.
I have also notices within the first 3 tourneys I was able to get some good gear, but that is kind of realistic, since if you are playing division 2 you wouldn't be playing with a wpg autococker(I think that was the gun you begin with not sure)

Controls 5/10
Just plain awful controls, they could of done better, if anything they should have left it exactly like Greg Hasting. Snap shooting is annoying, I wish they made it so you only had to click it once, instead of holding it down. The double trigger is a plus, for the ps3 anyway. You actually need to be able to walk a trigger.

Replayability 7/10
From what I can tell this is a casual game for paintballers who can't afford or go paintball once a week and for paintballers who play tourney. No average day person would even think of picking up this game. At max I think you can only play this game for 2 hours before you get sick of it for they. So play it for an hour or 2 then switch to something else. But to me I can't get sick of it because I enjoy paintball.

Will judge when I play it

Overall 6.5/10
Decent game, nothing to be amazed with. If you like paintball I think you should pick up this game, but if you have a ps2 you should pick up Greg Hasting instead. If they put a slightly more work into this game, they could of pulled off something amazing. I enjoy the game, and will probably be keeping it instead of selling it. Don't judge the game for the first 30 minutes, because once you get a good gun, and move up divisions it get somewhat good.

Just remember don't be excited for this game, instead think it will be crap, and you should be fine.
Now I am going to back to playing the game.
