No More Heroes is a brilliant game, and one of the coolest games this generation.

So, you're #11 ranked assassin, and you want to be #1. You meet an insanely hot French girl, who arranges fights with each of the top ten guys, and, as an added incentive, says she'll sleep with you if you get to #1.

Armed with a 'Beam Katana', you must defeat the top ten ranked assassins, one at a time, until you are the best.

The formula is simple enough... you go round doing part-time jobs, such as collecting coconuts, or filling up cars at the gas station, until you have enough money to enter the next ranking battle. You then go to the location of the battle, and Beam Katana your way through some generic enemies until you reach the boss, each of which require a fair bit of concentration to beat.

Even the simpler enemies are fun to kill... you attack with A and then an arrow comes up on the screen when their health is low, and you shake the Wii Remote in the direction of this arrow, which will kill your enemy, and any enemy that has strayed a bit too close, causing blood and coins to gloriously spray everywhere.

The Boss Battles, mentioned earlier, usually start with a cutscene revealing a bit of the back-story of your enemy, and then you fight. Each enemy has a few powerful attacks which you will aim to dodge, using the D-pad, and the timing of this dodge is important to your chances of landing a counter-attack.

The game is set in Santa Destroy. The open-world gameplay feels a bit unnecessary as the world is not particularly big, and there are only about 5-6 places to visit in the city, but you get you drive a GIANT MOTORCYCLE around, so it is worth it.

The music in the game isn't great, most of the songs are recycled and repetitive, but they're just the right amount of catchy to not become annoying, and there are some lovely 8-bit jingles at certain points.

The story is very interesting, and provides plenty of twists, and the appearance of the beautiful Sylvia Christel is always welcome.

This game is definitely worth getting, and provides a decent 12-14 hour main story mode, as well as some fun minigames and assassination missions to keep you busy. A brief look on YouTube at the Beam Katana in action will almost certainly convince you, but if not, a brief look at Sylvia Christel will.
