Suda 51 again delivers one of the most stylistic and unique games in years
But Suda 51 has overextended No More Heroes' adequate, but hardly dazzling 3D game engine and endeavored to create a sandbox, open-world style experience in which you can drive from place to place. It's clunky and, frankly, it looks dated directly from the start. Filled with mundane tasks and sloppily executed mission structures (the process of restarting a failed mission is stupid), it's just more trouble than it's worth, especially considering that all that style I talked about falls elsewhere.
Presentation: Some of the best interface and style choices we've seen on Wii. In the open world, however, pop-in and technical downfalls seriously hurt the experience.8.5/10
Graphics: A great cel-shaded look, fluid animations, and style to spare. Again, the open world aspects see a huge decrease in quality overall 8.5/10
Sound: It's a retro-inspired theme across the board, teamed with some hilariously old school music, corny dialogue, and some great sound effects, both classic and modern. Repetitive VO though. 8.5/10
Gameplay:The game shines during combat, but the entire GTA-like world needed to be pulled, as control is sketchy, there's horrible collision detection, frame issues, and an annoying mission system: 7.5/10
Lasting Appeal:There's a decent mix of items, upgrades, and weaponry, but the "get cash, fight a boss" formula can get old quick. The style will keep you going until the end, but not much farther 8/10
Overall 8.5/10
My Verdict: Buy It if your into Beat Em Up's
