When I first saw this game at E3 and discovered it was a PS4 exclusive I was bummed out. I thought it looked incredible. Fast forward to release and I was thrilled that I didn't have the opportunity to purchase it as I would have been one of the poor people that were misled into thinking NMS was this big amazing multiplayer game.
I forgot the game existed for 2 years until I heard the news that there was a massive update coming and it was being released on XB1. I was intrigued by the game again and was pleasantly surprised to hear that they were delivering on their original promises. When the update went live on PS4 and PC I watched a load of Twitch streams to see what people thought of it. What I saw was enough to convince me that I wanted to try it out for myself.
I was not disappointed. I played around 10 hours of solo, not really sure what I was doing, hesitantly following the main story until I built a hyperdrive and left my starting system. I'd convinced 2 friends to buy the game and I was pleasantly surprised I could play through the main story with them. After about another 25 hours we forgot about the main story, not because it was poor or boring, but because we had become completely addicted to the base building. I'm super excited to see where this game takes me next.
I can't tell you how much it's improved from the original version as I never played before the Xbox release but I can recommend it coming in fresh with the NEXT update. Super fun and even superer fun with friends.
