Devisive game which many find great

User Rating: 4 | No Man's Sky PS4

Many find it awful. Reminds me of school. I absolutely love math and science the harder the better. Most people I knew avoided math like the plague. Go figure. You will love this game if you like what it offers, and hate it if you don't. If COD is your style don't get this game. If GTAV is your style don't get this game. Suggest reading all the high and low reviews and make a decision before you buy this game to see if it suits you.

I rented the game from Gamely for a few weeks, no where near the center, but finished with everything the game had to offer after 2 or 3 days playing. Kept playing to see if there was anything else, but nothing. This is a few hours of playing and not much else to do but farm random materials and hyper jump over and over and over. If they add some real content than I would consider purchasing it because the framework to make an exceptional game is there.

Many of the bad reviews are from people who did not read the fine print before they purchase and thought they were getting something else because of some marketing hype. Such people are always disappointed because they are too lazy to do their own research and believe the sales hype. I read the description and the game is exactly what is stated, no more and no less. I cannot get over all the angry people who thought this was multiplayer when it says single player on the box.

The game does leave a lot to be desired. It could have been so much more. The path through the galaxy is a large easter egg hunt with no rhyme or reason to why anything is where it is. Scan and upload information, scan and store resources. Move along and do it again.

There could easily been clues to solve to find valuable resources or new ships to pilot, or an overriding plot to give suspense and mystery to the game. These are all easy, but the writers took a very juvenile lazy path to finish the game, and that is what I fault Hello Games on. The Atlas story is an aside necessary for the game. Sean Murray is intellectually lazy and focused on just making something different instead of something captivating and interesting and what could easily have been a 10. Throw some good plot and mystery and challenge into the game and everything would be different. I deduct a lot for this laziness and give it a 7 for an unfinished work.
