Story:

Ken is basically a super ninja sent to stop a bunch of infectious aliens from destroying Tokyo. He has 48 hrs to do so before the government basically sends a death ray to do the job. Though the combat isnt very deep, basically only having a dodge and attack button plus a secondary weapon it is still fun. The game is basically split up into 4 kinds of events. You got your typical beat em up style encounters, boss battles, shooter(in driving sequences), and quick time events. I my as well say it now that the quick time events are excellent and easily the best part about the game but the boss battles arn't far behind. The quick time events are very high octane and even more so after beating a boss. You feel very satisified after finishing a sequence and luckly for everyone its made frustration free when you mess up it simply rewinds a few seconds back and you retry it again so it does not ruin the pace of the game. The boss battle's are also fun and face paced and usually involve the use of all your abilities in an effort to gain victory. The regular beat'em up segments are nothing to really gawk at, you basically fight the same generic bad guys the whole game but these segments don't usually last to long before they are broken up by another style of game play meaning I think the creators were well aware of the situation. The shooter parts are some what bland but keep you on edge as there is usually something to kill you. They are mainly there to give you the feeling of moving from point A to point B however They could of easily been skipped entirely in my opinion at the expense of more quick time events.

There is a weapon/magic upgrade system. You gain currency from beating up baddies and boss's to upgrade your stuff. Its pretty straight forward and you can also customize your costume.

The Good.

Good pacing and change ups of play styles. The controls work well and never seem to be a reason for dying. The quick time events are amazing. The story is generic but well done for being generic with a little bit of over the top thrown in for good measure.

The Bad.

There could have been more variety in the baddie department. The shooter moments. Maybe more variety in the Level design like a day time level, or something sub-urban to make things feel not so blended together.

The average.

weapon upgrade system.

Conclusion.

This is just a really average game pretty much with exception of the over the top quick time events. Its one of those games you pick up when you have already played all the big hits on your list or between hits. Its good not great but not garbage either.
