Great movie... and a great movie based game.
The movie Barnyard focused on the crazy adventures of the carefree animals who party all day behind the farmer's back, led by their leader Otis the Cow. The video game adaptation of Barnyard is the same thing, although instead of focusing on Otis, you play as a new cow who comes to the Barnyard (either a boy or girl cow). You do various things that help the story like taking out the coyotes, but you also play a number of minigames, from teasing the mailman to driving cars throughout the town. Buying stuff from the Gopher Shop not only upgrades things like your bike, but you can also buy stuff for the barn during the night, from a dance floor to a pool table.
Overall, the graphics are good considering the material this game is using. However, I do admit (and I believe that this may be just because I have the gamecube edition considering though that there is a Wii edition) that the graphics make the game feel rather short in terms of frame rate.
However, this game succeeds with the great selection of minigames. I am sure that all fans of this movie were excited to tease the mailman themselves. Even though the voice actors from the movie don't do their own work for this game, the actors who are in this game sound very similar to the movie actors.
Barnyard is not only a great movie based game, but a game that can probably be on anybody's Top 10 list (if not, definitely could be an honorable mention).
