I have the fondestest memories of playing this thing for days (I mean literally with no sleep). The opening sequence is by far the coolest, most exciting sports game opening, with the most hilariously over the top explosion at the end. It's worth it just for that. I played this game on the PC when it first came out, so when i saw it for PS I had to grab it. Very nostalgic, graphics are BRUTAL. The bads:
graphics are pretty blocky and all the players look the same
physics are a little turbo, nobody goes that fast, not even the rocket

The goods:
Best opening sequence ever
Checking of the goalies is permitted.. oh so sweet
Checking of OFFICIALS is permitted
Skating full speed into the boards will either send you to the ice with a deafening thud, OR will send you sailing through the glass. Hours of fun just wrecking the rink.

So there you have it, a great old game on a rather dated platform. Get some if you want to take a skate down memory lane.
