Just like the rest of the handheld sports games.

Gameplay
It is so hard to play this game, it’s unbelievable. The defense runs over your offensive line so quickly that you have no time to throw the ball, but even if you could, there’s no way to see your receivers! And it’s NFL Blitz! What happened to the crazy tackling, and the rough defensive play? This looks more like Madden 1968 to me.

Other than the crappy in-game play, NFL Blitz 2000 comes with two typical game modes, an Arcade Mode and a Season Mode.

Graphics
Much better than the original NFL Blitz, but still terrible. As I stated earlier, the receivers fade out of the screen within 4 seconds.

Controls
Shoddy, terrible, disgusting, horrible, whichever way you want to look at it:

D-Pad: Move Player
A: Throw ball, switch page when selecting play
B: Sprint, Dive on defense, flip plays when selecting
Start: Select Play, switch player

As you can guess, it’s hard to use the tiny little start button as an actual in-play button. Ugh. There’s so much I could complain about.

Improvements
Previous game(s): NFL Blitz

Well, for one, there’s no crappy tackling animation (I love the NFL Blitz series’ tackling animations, but for the original game on the GBC, they were terrible). Other than that, the game goes sideways across the screen instead of up and down, but that’s an unimprovement because of the lack of ability to see wide receivers.

Durability
Durability? What a laugh.

Difficulty: Very Hard
How can you win a game when you can’t see the receivers? Luck? Yes, correct answer.
