NFL 2k3 is a great addditon to any gamers collection, especially that of a football fan's collection. Though, in my opinion it is worse than the Madden Series, but it is still a good game in it's own way. Gameplay: The gameplay, not unlike any other football game, allows you to play as one of the 32 NFL teams and play a season, franchise or practice. The teams have stats and ranks based on the actual NFL stats. There is a large amount of passing or running plays to choose from in the huddle, as well as special teams plays. If you do not understand football this game will not be fun to you at all. The running game is NFL 2k3 is harder than most other football games that I have played, but if you are looking for a realistic running game this is a good game for you. Though I must warn you, it is not unlikely to loose yards when you run, or gain little yardage, for me the passing game is really where it's at. The passing game in NFL 2k3 is one of the reasons why this game is so good. The quarterback unloads a pass to the recviever and when they catch it, it's the best feeling in the world. (That's an exaggeration but it is very good.) Graphics: The player's faces all pretty much look the same, not that you will look at them often or anything, but sometimes in instant replays you will notice that all the football players have the same faces but different color skin, though I must say they look very nice, down to the faice paint underneath their eyebrows. The football field looks great, aswell as the cintematic, or "pre game show" was done very nicely and looks great. I wouldn't say the graphics contribute to this game much, but they do not take away from them either, so that is always a good thing. Sound: This game sounds pretty good but it could be better. You hear the occasional crowd cheering and announcers commenting on what just happened, but not much else. Not much to say about the sound in this game, seen better, seen worse. Bottom Line: NFL 2k3 is a decent game and a good addition to a collection, but not a necessity. The gameplay is nice, but the graphics and sound have room for improvement.
