this game is one of the best football games on the market today
The gameplay in this game are easy to get into and confortable. Unlike Madden 2002 where you have to have a general understanding and appreciation of the game and the difference between a good play and a bad one, Nfl 2K2 is easy to play even if you are only a beginner. It is easy to learn how to succesfully pass the ball with out a large worry of interceprions and learn how to run the ball a decent distance with out getting tackled. I'm not saying that it is easy to play but it is easier to than Madden 2002 to execute manuvers and plays effectivley.
The graphics in this game are the best graphics out of any of the current football games for the Playstation 2 console to date. There are none of the choppy, slightly disorientated graphics that one would encounter in Madden 2002. Each players body size is correspondent to the positions they play and their real life conterparts. There are realistic facial expressions and body movements that each players demonstrates depending on what they are trying to do. For example if you are emmit smith and running with the ball towards the goal line and suddenly get tackled you will sport a facial expression of confusion and pain. If you have just scored a touch down you will jump up and down and throw your hands in the air in rejoyce and happiness. If you are Warren Sapp and trying to sack an exceptionally fiesty quarter back, your face will be of determination and focus.
The commentary of this game is very entertaining and accurate. The commentaters call the right plays when they happend and even do a little trash talking when a play does not work out. The trash talk is very funny with out being offensive to gamers, which is very hard to find these days. There is no music except when a touchdown is scored. The touchdown music is appropriate and the usual cheerful music that is found in sports games.
